Because…
- Visionary Investigations happens after the events of Specter Inspector.
- Unlike the other books in the series, it’s from Truth’s perspective (not Aeron’s).
- Despite its 260 pages, it’s not technically a full-length novel.
Despite being 260 pages long…
Visionary Investigations is technically not a full-length novel because it’s 3 short stories. But it’s not a short story collection either, because…
- all 3 stories are from the same perspective,
- occur in chronological order,
- and build on each other.
Like a BBC mystery TV series…
Have you seen BBC’s Sherlock or Endeavor? (If not, I highly recommend them.) Their seasons are only 3 episodes… 3 long episodes.
Visionary Investigations is similar with 3 “episodic” short stories with their own cases that build on each other for an over-arching plot of a “season.”
I hope that answered some of your questions!
